Below is a list of answers to our frequently asked questions as they pertain to each service type. We are here to help you in any way we can. How long of a session should I book?
This is a personal decision, but typically five pages of sides or less can be completed in 30 minutes. If you have more than five pages, we advise an hour or more.
What if I need to cancel?
We offer a full refund for cancellations up to four hours before your appointment. When you book you will receive a confirmation email and on it there is a link to cancel or reschedule. There are no refunds for cancellations less than four hours before your appointment.
How will I look?
Our studio is equipped with the highest quality camera, lighting, and sound equipment to ensure a professional result. We film you against a medium grey background and we light each actor per their individual needs. We also provide essentials like face powder and water to make sure you look and sound your best. Should I be off-book?
The more prepared you are, the more you will get out of your appointment. We can always run lines with you and stop and start takes. Just in case, we also have an easel so you can display your lines if necessary.
Is coaching included?
Every session includes an experienced coach. The level of coaching is based on your preference. If you want detailed feedback or simply want us to run the camera, we are here to support you as you see fit.
Will there be a reader?
We will always have one experienced reader in the room. If you prefer to bring your own reader, we welcome that as well. Interested in becoming a reader? We offer a Reader Program to qualified actors. You can apply with your resume here.
Can I review my takes?
You can review your takes throughout your session or at the end of your appointment. You can also have us pick the best take for you. There is no limit on the number of takes you can film during your session, as long as it fits within your appointment time. Your final file delivery can include as many takes as you want at no extra charge.
Can my self tape be sent to more than one address?
We can send your final file to up to ten additional recipients at no extra cost. Your file is sent using WeTransfer.
When will I get my self tape?
All auditions taped before 1PM will be sent by 2PM. All auditions taped after 2PM will go out by 8PM.
What if I need my audition tape immediately?
If you need your audition tape immediately after your appointment, please select the Rush Edit option in addition to your session time during your online booking. With this option, you will receive your file 15 minutes after the end of your appointment.
What if I need to upload my audition to ECO Cast?
Simply select the ECO Cast Upload option when you schedule your appointment and we can assist you with your upload. In order for us to access your account and complete the upload, we will need for you to share your username and password for Actor’s Access. If you need your material to be uploaded immediately, please select the Rush Edit option (in addition to the ECO Cast Upload option) when you book online and we can have the whole process completed within 15 minutes after the end of your appointment.
Alternatively, you can easily download your file from the WeTransfer link we send you and upload the material to your account yourself.
What if I have specific slate instructions from casting?
We can accommodate all styles of slates - from full body frames, camera pans, wide to close or close to wide. Just be sure to share the instructions provided by casting during your session and we will make sure you are covered.
What if I don’t use all of my time, will I get a refund?
Unfortunately, we are not able to refund unused time. If there is time remaining at the end of your appointment, we will use it to get your edited tape out to you faster.
What if I change my mind and decide I want alternate takes?
We keep your self tape takes for 24 hours after your appointment and for $15 we can issue a re-edit. Morning re-edit requests go our by 2pm and afternoon re-edit requests go out no later than 8pm
How much will my edit cost?
Our editing rates are $100 per hour. Prior to starting your edit, you will have a consultation with the editor to discuss the scope of the job. At that point, we will give you an estimate of time and cost. To begin the process, kindly fill out our editing request form here.
How long will my edit take?
This depends on the scope of the job. However, we understand that you require the latest representation of your work, so please let us know your timeline during your consultation and we will do our best to meet your deadline.
What if I need my edit tomorrow?
We cannot guarantee this type of turnaround but if our schedule allows it, we can complete a smaller job within 24 hours for an additional fee.
What if I don't have my material?
We can source almost all material that has already aired. We charge a flat rate of $30 per film or episode. If you need us to find your material, kindly fill out our air check request form here.
Do I need to provide time codes?
It is preferable that you provide us with the time codes in your air check request form, however, if you only have information on the episode and the scene, we will source the rest of the information for you.
What if I have a completed reel and I just want to add something?
No job is too big or too small. We are here to help you get the best and most current reel possible.
What file sizes will you provide for me when my edit is complete?
We provide you with two files – the original file and a smaller MP4 file that can easily be uploaded to your website or casting platform.

How much does it cost?
Web hosting memberships require a 12 month commitment that can be paid at $100 a year or $10 monthly.
How do I make changes to my page?
We maintain your page updates for you. If you need to change your headshot, upload a new reel, switch out your resume, or update your representation, simply email us the material at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and a link to your Speed Reels URL and we will complete your request within 48 hours.
Is there a limit to how often I can update my web page?
There are no limits to the updates you can make. Your page should be a current representation of your work, so anytime you need an update, we will be happy to make it for you.
What if I don't remember the URL for my web page?
You can easily find your page by clicking on the “Actor Search” menu item on our website navigation and typing in your full name in the search bar.
What if I want a copy of my reel from my page?
Every Speed Reels web page comes with a download button so you and your representatives can directly download your reel from your page.
What if I need to update the reel on my web page?
Our editing team is always available to update your reel. Members of our web hosting service receive a 10% discount on our editing services. To begin the editing process, kindly fill out our editing request form here.
Can I put my self tapes on my web page?
We encourage you to share your self tapes on your web page. Let us know which tapes you love and we would be happy to upload them to your web page.
